Mahala Wi-Fi is a free wireless internet service for the public to use to connect freely to the internet or communicate wirelessly within a Mahala hot spot. Connect to Mahala Wi-Fi using any device that has  Wi-Fi capabilities, and where Mahala Wi-Fi has been deployed.

Mahala Wi-Fi further offers clients advertising in the form of banners, videos and data analytics. Open Access in the form of broadcasted SSID’s, or hidden SSID’s and Internet Connectivity via tenant contracts etc.

Where can you find Mahala Wi-Fi

Currently Mahala Wi-Fi is being rolled out at various PRASA (Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa) railway stations and platforms throughout South Africa, and is expanding rapidly to ensure effective and free internet connectivity to its users. We will be updating registered users as and when new areas become operational, as well as our website.

Is now completed and operational. The next 5 stations will be identified soon, we will update our registered users with the progress on new station roll-outs.

When you are in a Mahala Wi-Fi zone, you can follow the below steps to connect

Search for Wi-Fi

 

Go to your Wi-Fi settings on your device. Select Mahala Wi-Fi from the list of available connections.

Registration Page

 

You will be redirected to your internet browser, to the Mahala Wi-Fi page. If you are not redirected, open your browser, and go to http://internet.joburg

 

Create a Profile

 

Click on Register Yourself or login with your Social Media (twitter or facebook) account. Fill in your details, and click on the next button.

Congratulations

 

Once your have registered, and created a profile. You now have internet FOR FREE
